The Saddam Trials
Today i will be a political critic as i will go in depth with the notorious Iraq former president, Saddam Hussein.
Short history here,
Saddam Hussein Abd al-Majidida al-Tikriti (born April 28, 1937), was the President and dictator of Iraq from July 16, 1979 until April 9, 2003, when he was deposed during the United States-led invasion of Iraq. As a leading member of the Iraqi Baath Party, which espoused secular pan-Arabism, economic modernization, and Arab socialism, Saddam played a key role in the 1968 coup that brought his party to long-term power.
As vice president under his cousin, the frail General Ahmed Hassan al-Bakr, Saddam tightly controlled conflict between the government and the armed forces by creating repressive security forces and cementing his own firm authority over the apparatus of government.
As president, Saddam ran an authoritarian government and maintained power through the Iran-Iraq War (1980–1988) and the Gulf War (1991). Saddam's government repressed movements that it deemed threatening, particularly those of ethnic or religious groups that sought independence or autonomy. While he remained a popular hero among many Arabs for standing up to Israel and the United States, some in the international community continued to view Saddam with deep suspicion following the 1991 Gulf War.
Saddam was deposed by the US-led 2003 invasion of Iraq, and captured by U.S. forces on December 13, 2003. On November 5, 2006, he was convicted of crimes against humanity by the Iraq Special Tribunal and was sentenced to death by hanging.
Thats for those who are not sure about who Saddam is. Anyway, Saddam is schedule to be hung before the years end. This action will and might have few consequences, first the world will be more unstable, second, another war might erupt in the middle east. Saddam death in theory was to get the world rid of one more tyrant, and that justice will prevail(the murder of 148 person). Still, the political agenda behind this is still to show the people who are still in their own disneyland(guess who) that the death of 3000++ coalition soldier is justified and that the invasion of Iraq has a cause. The result led to many to believe that it was a political action to win votes for the republican sides as the democrats is somewhat clean in a sense .
Now, back to Saddam, if someone killed 5000+ person in a single hour, what should we call them, a murderer? Correct, but the murderer was given sentence of the earlier murder of the 148 person, thus a bit da illogical, don't you think so? Clearly, The special tribunal must know that statistic won't work correct? Now, for a man who indirectly causes 70000+ person to die is still happy, only concerning about the next the elections is in the house that is painted white, counting the profit that he made
during the war. Although his action can be justified of making his interest stronger and more wealthier, still, the moral value of the human society will not tolerate this kind of inequalities. History is to be written by the winners, don't you think so? For this case, Saddam lost and he cant wrote his part of the history while POTUS can demonize everything he wanted.
So, is this the reality of the world? Or the human are going back to the survival of the fittess in the natural world. So, guys, please comment, for I believe that everyone is entitled to what they believe,(including influences by propaganda)
PS: Mr George, I hope you are not reading this
And Dortor, I hope that we can have a chat.
